Hammer and Chisel- Week 1 Review and Meal Plan!

I am totally in love with the new Hammer and Chisel workout program and I am really pumped about sharing my weekly progress and updates! I hope that it helps you along your journey too!

So I just wrapped up my full first week of the program! I am following the schedule how it is laid out, so I have my rest day on Thursdays right now and it really just helps to break up the week and give my body a little break when it needs it most!

Hammer and Chisel is my jam!

I literally just finished my Total Body Hammer and 10 minute ab hammer workout and I am feeling amazing (and sweaty 😉 ), but seriously I can’t even begin to say how happy I am to  have something fresh and new! It is so easy to get bored with the same old routine and I had definitely hit that boredom plateau over the past few months! I had been traveling a lot, being full time mommy and business owner, house responsibilities and you name it- I was doing it! My workouts are my HAPPY place, but no matter how good I feel afterwards- it was getting harder for me to actually push play everyday because I wasn’t excited about it!

ENTER Hammer and Chisel- BEFORE Christmas! Because I am not one to wait until after the holidays to start to get into shape! NO WAY! Exercise is my drug! My happy pill!! AND it burns calories, so i’m not going to pack on a few pounds just to feel blah and have to do extra work after the New Year! This is my lifestyle so I just do it!

AND!!!! My hubby totally surprised me with new Bowflex Selectech weights that I have been wanting for over 2 years!! So- Merry early Christmas to me!!! I’m in love with these babies already!!

Another thing that I am loving with this program is that it is something new everyday! I am working different muscle groups and I tend to get lazy if I am doing the same thing over and over, but not this time! I can feel changes happening already and I love it! 
The meal plan for hammer and chisel is pretty great. It is easy to follow, no counting calories or depriving yourself of foods you love. It is simply all about balance and moderation. I am doing plan B meal plan because my goal is to build lean muscle. I am not on a mission to lose any weight, just continue to tone. So, when I focus on my food I am looking for things that will fuel me and keep me full! The team beachbody website has tracking sheets that you can find under the get Fit tab and then click on tracking sheets. 
Also a tip- don’t drink your calories! I drink mostly water- i stay hydrated and I make it a point to always have a glass of water next to me! it is so important! I tell my chalelngers all the time that they have to hydrate in order for the body to work properly!!! My mission is to always feel great in my own skin and I want to do the same for all of you!

My Top 6 Tips To Get Motivated To Workout

When I hear people tell me that working out just comes so naturally to me- I kinda want to cringe! Nothing really comes naturally to anyone- but with the right mindset it is easier to see WHY making it a priority everyday is so important!!

Do you want to workout? Do you want to get yourself onto a good routine and stop the rat race of excuses that fly everyday?

Here are are my 6 tips that get me motivated to workout everyday and i’m going to share them with you. Remember- these are things that have to be done consistently over time before they become a habit! It takes 3 weeks to create a habit! After 3 weeks of trying to escape your new workout routine- you’ll begin to embrace it! Trust me 🙂

 

1. Set a goal! What do you want to see happen? Lose 10 pounds or maybe more? Tone up and feel better? Now- break them down into small weekly goals! Is it to lose 1 pound a week? 2 pounds a week? Celebrate every reached goal- THEN VISUALIZE your GOALS! It is so important to visualize how you are going to feel once you’ve accomplished your goals! What will you look like? What will you enjoy doing differently after you reach your goals?
Write them down- stick them all over your house- print pics if that will help and keep your eye on the prize!!

Hands down- JUST MOVE!! You’ve gotta get the excuses out!

2. Wear cute workout clothes! Motivational tanks are my fave! Cute Nike Pro shorts- matching sports bra- really whatever it takes! I swear- when you look cute- you feel cute! Target, Fabletics, TJ Maxx,  Marshalls, Victorias Secret, Dicks, Academy, Nike, Outlet Malls— these are a few of my favorite places to shop!!

3. You’ve gotta LOVE your workout program. You really do! If you are someone who is into cardio, but you’re trying to do a Yoga program- it’s not going to motivate you to get your butt out of bed and get it done! Or if it’s something that you’ve done over and over again- you’re not going to want to do it and you’ll put it off until later… then later never comes.
For me- I love kickboxing, weight training and HIIT type workouts. I choose my program based on my goals! If you need some help choosing something- reach out and let me know- I can help.

4. PREWORKOUT.

Oh My Gosh. Seriously- I used to be closed minded and would never even consider taking a pre workout. I had heard horror stories from some people and I wasn’t going to use anything… UNTIL on day I did my own research and took the advice of some friends and other health professionals and went in for the kill. I made sure that all of the ingredients were all natural and I chose Beachbody’s Energy and Endurance. AHHHH!!! It is my life saver! It’s hard NOT to workout when my energy kicks in from that and when I’m done- I don’t crash and burn. It’s prefect for me, but remember- for some a cup of coffee is a great pre workout too!

5.  GET A WORKOUT BUDDY!!! Seriously- accountability partners are KEY! We have to be surrounded by like minded people! Get a friend and start to get your workout on! A simple text in the morning telling each other to get out of bed works wonders!!

6. You’ve gotta know WHY you are doing this. Your WHY has to be something so strong that on the days when you feel like giving up- the days when you feel like eating the ice cream or going through the drive thru- it’s what keeps you grounded and away from the bad.

Ask yourself- WHY is now the time that you are ready to change? That why is really your self motivation. You can have all of the support you need with coaches, friends, family members cheering you on, but if it’s not right in your mind- then you will never succeed. Hard core TRUTH! I know from personal experience. The why will be what will help you get back up and brush yourself off when you fall- because you WILL fall! It happens, it’s life! We get back up and start fresh the next day. Your results will come from 1st- mindset, 2nd- putting in the work for your workouts AND don’t forget the thing that controls 80% of your results… YOUR NUTRITION! You have to eat properly and follow a meal plan. I fought that part for so long- well I never reached my goals until I changed up what I was eating and drinking!

How Can I Be The First To Get Cize?!!

I have to say that this workout is an instant mood booster, it is meant for people who want to workout but don’t want to feel like they are working out!  It’s a fun workout that is broken down into steps for the any “dancer” at any level.  It’s not about the crazy push ups and diamond jumps… its about focusing on the beat and getting into the moves.  The beat moves you to the results that you want.

The workouts range from 35-40 minutes in length and the program is 4 weeks long but you can definitely extend it as you are learning the moves.  Cize is choreographed to the latest pop music that Shaun T has picked out.

The BEST Pizza Ever!

So let’s face it. Pizza is good! It is probably one of the most eaten foods in America! Why in the world would anyone want to stop eating it, even when they are working on losing weight? I don’t think that we have to give it up! Ever 😉 I think we just have to tweak it a little bit!

So we used to load it with fatty meats- pepperoni, sausage, bacon, etc… but not anymore! Here is our recipe that even the kiddos will eat!

First- we use a STORE BOUGHT PIZZA CRUST! Yes- we do. Okay- do I KNOW that homemade is better for us? Yes. Do I KNOW that we should do the cauliflower crust- sure! But in all honestly- I DON’T LIKE IT. (There I said it 😉 ) So, you know what? Our pizza crust we use is not super ‘clean’ but for once a week saving us from going through a Dominos or Pizza Hut- this takes the cake! We are human and just do our best!

So- we use THIN CRUST! It is super thin and the brand name is Mama Mary’s. We really love to get the little personal pan size ones too and let our kids make their own! It’s fun and gets them involved in making healthy choices for their toppings.

We lay out the crust and then add a drizzle of EVOO to the top and spread it around.

Next- sauce! We do choose an organic pizza sauce- it is honestly whatever brand we can find on sale or that they have at the store. ANY BRAND WORKS! it’s just sauce!

Then we sprinkle the sauce covered crust with some garlic powder and onion powder.

Then comes the mozorella- again- any kind! I do buy the shredded cheese. Again- quick, easy and it works.

Then we load it with HEALTHY OPTIONS!

I do turkey pepperoni bc our kids love it. Then we always have mushrooms, sliced colored peppers, banana peppers, onions and whatever we feel like! That is it most of the time. Sometimes we get funky and do a hawaiian pizza! Really whatever you want- just choose wisely to get your veggies in!

Then-we have a size of salad or asparagus! And usually a La Croix sparkling water to make us feel like we are drinking some pop with it 😉

So- there you have it! Our favorite meal- revealed!!

Wow- What a Journey This Two Years Has Been!

This is by far one of the most emotional posts I’ve ever done. Feelings of PURE JOY, feelings of anxiety and fear over what people might think or say, feelings of OVERWHELM because never in my life did I think I alone would earn this kind of money by doing a job that I would literally do for FREE. Going from a stay at home mom for 7 years to a woman who set out to earn just a little extra cash to help put groceries on the table… This has become my REALITY in 23 months.

I realized this after almost NOT posting it.

You’d have NO IDEA that this is available to YOU too.
I believe if I DIDN’T SHOW you that I am doing YOU a disservice because this is not about the money– these numbers represent LIVES CHANGED. This is less than 2 years of dedication to be a servant leader and how I started— was committing to change myself.

This post is not to brag. Gosh- it has take me almost two years to even consider doing this! It is SO HARD for me to talk about money. I used to joke to my hubby {seriously JOKE around}- that one day I would make more money than he did. I planned to always be a stay at home mom/home maker– so that was always the JOKE- because we know that as mom’s we SHOULD get paid a lot 😉 but we don’t!!

Let me start by saying this:

1. I started this business with less than 140 fb friends. No social media background. I was a SKEPTIC and it took a waived sign up fee to get me to finally ‘pull the trigger’ and do this.
2. I built this from my kitchen table- early in the morning right after my workouts until my kids woke up. Then during quiet/nap time and then after they went to bed. I have never missed family time and I decide when I work.
3. I built this business with passion. I built this business with MANY failures. I built this business while LIVING OUTSIDE OF MY COMFORT ZONE! I built this business while CHANGING into a better person everyday.
4. I could have make MANY excuses why I should have just quit. Stopped. Not kept going when I got knocked down. I don’t have an upline who helps contribute to my business center. I have built my ENTIRE organization MYSELF. I am BLESSED that God has given me the opportunity- I have had a VISION since the day I started and I am NEVER going to quit.
What is the one thing I think has made the biggest impact?

Consistency… through the times when others would have quit is WHY I am where I am.

Let’s break it down.

I have my background in Sports Management with a concentration in Health and Wellness {Ironic that I am now a Health and Wellness Coach and I don’t even need my Bachelor’s Degree for it 😉 }

I have only ever been a student (it took me 8 years to get my bachelor’s degree… yep. I’m that girl) and a wife/stay at home mom! I’ve never had a ‘real’ full time job in my life.

I had tried like every home business ever. –I was going to make it BIG selling Cutco knives when I was 19 (yeah. right.) I have done the whole Mary Kay thing- 31 Bags- Avon and gosh– i think one of those skincare things for like a day… I HAD NO PASSION FOR ANY OF THOSE!!

2 years ago- my husband and I had a hard reality hit- we were STRUGGLING financially– which in turn meant had our marriage on the rocks… big time. We sold my car and went to one vehicle, we started to downsize with what we could and I was looking for a job because we were scared we were going to have to file bankruptcy…

Then- this ‘coaching opportunity’ came up… and well. The rest is history.  I made a CHOICE to create a future for my kids that we could only dream of. Now- the dreams are becoming reality.

With coaching — I jumped in BELIEF first. I learned. I failed. I grew. I failed. I kept going.

My job is to help others achieve:

CONFIDENCE.
HAPPINESS.
HEALTH.
WELLNESS.
LOVE FOR THEMSELVES.
LOVE FOR OTHERS.
FINANCIAL FREEDOM.
AND SO MUCH MORE.

Who can do this job?

ANYONE. Let me say that again.
ANYONE.

Anyone who is okay with being WEIRD like me. Anyone who is okay with going into the unknown and just diving in. head first. and building wings on the way down.
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CHANGE MORE THAN THEY WANT TO STAY THE SAME!! That’s all it takes. A FIRE in your belly to do something MORE.

It takes time. It takes consistency. It take vision. It takes believe. It takes OVERCOMING FEAR. It takes raising some eyebrows. It takes confidence. It takes patience.
This is a MARATHON. NEVER a SPRINT.

I create a system of duplication. I teach every one of my coaches HOW to do this. I have tested these systems and they are PROVEN to WORK when YOU do the work. I set goals and created benchmarks to achieve those goals. I teach my team the same thing.

So WHY am I posting this? Why now?

Because I want to PAY IT FORWARD. I WANT to encourage and shine light for anyone- but my goal.. if I can inspire ONE PERSON- then this post will be worth it!
Because it’s my sincere hope that you take a deep breath and say “Why NOT me?” Why not go for it? Why not triple my income? Why not go for paid for vacations? Why not begin a business that could blossom into financial freedom for myself and family? Why not do the thing that most won’t? Why not be my own boss and make my own hours.

The ROAD to success is filled with LOTS of obstacles. It is NOT a straight line. It is crazy windy, twirly, ups, downs, overs and unders. It does NOT come easy. It comes with work.
