I Eat Glitter For Breakfast

You know that silly little saying—

I Eat Glitter For Breakfast? {{ Okay okay. I know the mug says eat cake for breakfast– just pretend that it has glitter instead of cake! }}

Well- I feel like that should be every woman’s motto. There is something about it that really just perks me up and makes me change my mindset to be AWESOME everyday. It’s kind of like wearing a cape. Like a reminder to be the best superhero that I can be for myself and for my family… everyday.

Not striving to be perfect. Not striving to be someone who I’m not. But to be ME. And to love ME first so that way I can be the best version of me for everyone else! Does that even make sense? I hope this explains it!!

Do you feel like you know who you are? Like really know. Or do you feel like you have been trapped inside of a label for so long that you’ve lost yourself completely?

Are you a mom. A wife. A friend. A mentor/business woman. Do you wear many hats? Do you feel like you spend so much time filling other peoples’ cups that you do not take the time to fill your own everyday?

I used to be this person! I used to say- I’m a wife! I have to do wife things… and I would never take ME time. Then I became a mom– and then my baby came first for everything… and I hate to say it- at times.. too many times the baby came before my husband too. Then came baby #2 and it got even worse. I felt like I was in a constant spiral of cooking, cleaning, diapers, nursing, bath time, bedtime, etc that I never STOPPED…

Until one day. I did stop. I looked in the mirror and I did NOT recognized the woman staring back at me. Val had been gone for so long that I didn’t know if I would ever come back.

That’s when I made a CHOICE. A difficult and sometimes a very unbelievable choice— to start changing my mindset. To start putting me first. To start saying NO to others if it meant jeopardizing my priorities. I started putting MYSELF FIRST!…

And oh my gosh. Was that scary!!

I told myself this everyday:

√ 1 workout won’t fix you

√ 1 week of clean eating won’t make you healthy

√ 1 personal development book won’t change your mindset forever.

Do it all daily. Everyday. Never stop. Never skip. Just start to change. Never. Give up.

heart emoticon
And then I started to see and feel changes. I felt better and realized that he trio is fail proof—> if you apply it! because I did!

Give yourself a gut check.

Are you going to give this your all- or are you going to float by on autopilot and make excuses?

Start the change to find YOU and do something everyday that your future self will thank you for!!

I DECIDED that I was going to exercise, start a career in turning my fitness into a business and being the best mom/wife I could be—-> AFTER putting my needs first for 30 minutes a day to make my mindset solid and my body thankful for the royal treatment!
We all have a choice.

A choice to either let the stress and negative thoughts build up and eat at us—

Or a choice to pray and let it all go!

A choice to tell YOURSELF that today is a great day! That no matter what- we have the ability to breath in goodness and exhale the bad.

Repeat after me:

I am enough.

I am able to make the most and the best of every day I am given.

I have the ability to wake up and live everyday with happiness.

I am alive and today is a gift.

Remember to stop and smell the roses. Don’t get so caught up in everything that you forget the simple things in life that mean the most. And the fact that you CAN live any life that you choose to create. I am living my DREAMS all because I made a choice to change. A choice to make a difference and it all started with ME! I feel amazing. I am grateful for my life and when life throws me curve balls.
I eat glitter for breakfast!

My Top 6 Tips To Get Motivated To Workout

When I hear people tell me that working out just comes so naturally to me- I kinda want to cringe! Nothing really comes naturally to anyone- but with the right mindset it is easier to see WHY making it a priority everyday is so important!!

Do you want to workout? Do you want to get yourself onto a good routine and stop the rat race of excuses that fly everyday?

Here are are my 6 tips that get me motivated to workout everyday and i’m going to share them with you. Remember- these are things that have to be done consistently over time before they become a habit! It takes 3 weeks to create a habit! After 3 weeks of trying to escape your new workout routine- you’ll begin to embrace it! Trust me 🙂

1. Set a goal! What do you want to see happen? Lose 10 pounds or maybe more? Tone up and feel better? Now- break them down into small weekly goals! Is it to lose 1 pound a week? 2 pounds a week? Celebrate every reached goal- THEN VISUALIZE your GOALS! It is so important to visualize how you are going to feel once you’ve accomplished your goals! What will you look like? What will you enjoy doing differently after you reach your goals?
Write them down- stick them all over your house- print pics if that will help and keep your eye on the prize!!

Hands down- JUST MOVE!! You’ve gotta get the excuses out!

2. Wear cute workout clothes! Motivational tanks are my fave! Cute Nike Pro shorts- matching sports bra- really whatever it takes! I swear- when you look cute- you feel cute! Target, Fabletics, TJ Maxx,  Marshalls, Victorias Secret, Dicks, Academy, Nike, Outlet Malls— these are a few of my favorite places to shop!!

3. You’ve gotta LOVE your workout program. You really do! If you are someone who is into cardio, but you’re trying to do a Yoga program- it’s not going to motivate you to get your butt out of bed and get it done! Or if it’s something that you’ve done over and over again- you’re not going to want to do it and you’ll put it off until later… then later never comes.
For me- I love kickboxing, weight training and HIIT type workouts. I choose my program based on my goals! If you need some help choosing something- reach out and let me know- I can help.

4. PREWORKOUT.

Oh My Gosh. Seriously- I used to be closed minded and would never even consider taking a pre workout. I had heard horror stories from some people and I wasn’t going to use anything… UNTIL on day I did my own research and took the advice of some friends and other health professionals and went in for the kill. I made sure that all of the ingredients were all natural and I chose Beachbody’s Energy and Endurance. AHHHH!!! It is my life saver! It’s hard NOT to workout when my energy kicks in from that and when I’m done- I don’t crash and burn. It’s prefect for me, but remember- for some a cup of coffee is a great pre workout too!

5.  GET A WORKOUT BUDDY!!! Seriously- accountability partners are KEY! We have to be surrounded by like minded people! Get a friend and start to get your workout on! A simple text in the morning telling each other to get out of bed works wonders!!

6. You’ve gotta know WHY you are doing this. Your WHY has to be something so strong that on the days when you feel like giving up- the days when you feel like eating the ice cream or going through the drive thru- it’s what keeps you grounded and away from the bad.

Ask yourself- WHY is now the time that you are ready to change? That why is really your self motivation. You can have all of the support you need with coaches, friends, family members cheering you on, but if it’s not right in your mind- then you will never succeed. Hard core TRUTH! I know from personal experience. The why will be what will help you get back up and brush yourself off when you fall- because you WILL fall! It happens, it’s life! We get back up and start fresh the next day. Your results will come from 1st- mindset, 2nd- putting in the work for your workouts AND don’t forget the thing that controls 80% of your results… YOUR NUTRITION! You have to eat properly and follow a meal plan. I fought that part for so long- well I never reached my goals until I changed up what I was eating and drinking!

Those are my 6 tips for you! If you’d like additional help or advice- please reach out. You can find me on fb @ fb.com/valbfitness or email me: valbozzo15@gmail.com.

CHOOSE A HEALTHY LIFE! You deserve to live your life to the fullest! Be happy and cherish every moment!

Ways To Get Motivated

Ways to get Motivated!

How do you find the motivation to exercise when you just don’t feel like it?!!? When getting up early or exercising when you get home just feels like the biggest chore you’ve ever ad to do and you just don’t want to do it!?! We have all had days where the motivation is left in the dust and the bag of Oreos becomes the better plan!. It is really important to continue to motivate yourself to reach your goals everyday.

Below I have made a list of some of the best ways I know how to get motivated and to stay motivated. One of the most important ways- hands down- is to find an accountability partner. Find someone that you can workout with that will hold you to your goal and scream at you if needed. Who is that person that will call you out when you are making bad food choices or skipping workouts. A few other important things that I do EVERYDAY is to log your workouts, read magazines, books and websites along with rewarding myself. It is so important to surround yourself with positive people who are supporting your goal. I constantly read blogs from people who are trying to eat clean and lose weight. I love Oxygen magazine– their magazine is based on the eat clean principles.

So here are some ways to stay motivated below:

1. How you feel after a workout. I always feel great after a good workout. It’s a high. And I let that motivate me the next time: “You know how good you’re going to feel, Melanie!” I am always pumped for the rest of the day.

2. Time for you. While many people make time to take care of others (kids, spouse, other family, co-workers, boss), they don’t often make time to take care of themselves. Instead, make your “you” time a priority, and don’t miss that exercise appointment. I had to actually sit down and talk with my husband about not giving me a hard time when I needed to exercise. Now he is very supportive.

3. Calories burned. If you count calories (and it’s really one of the most effective ways to lose weight), you know that the more you exercise, the more calories you burn — and the bigger your calorie deficit. Personally I do not do this one but you have to do what works for you. They have a great little invention out there called the body bug and I encourage you to check it out. It makes exercise and eating a game by tracking all your movements and the food you eat and it tells you how many calories you burned vs. how many you took in! I would love this!

4. Having fun. Exercise should be fun. If it isn’t, try a different kind of activity that you enjoy. As long as you’re moving, it’s good for you. Don’t feel pressured into doing a certain type of exercise, do what’s right for you and most importantly do what you will stick with. You have to LOVE your workout routine, otherwise it feels like a chore. Exercise shouldn’t feel like a chore it should feel like a reward.

5. How you’re going to look. Imagine a slimmer, fitter you. Now let that visualization drive you. I go through the Oxygen magazine and rip out pictures of models that I would like to look like and then I hang them on my wall where I exercise. It reminds me that I am working towards my “best” body. Now that I have achieved my weight loss goal, I still am trying to achieve that “best” body with strength training and toning. Another suggestion is to create a dream/motivation board. Cut out pictures that are motivating to you and put on a poster board and keep in a place that you will be reminded of every day!

6. Magazines. It motivates me to read fitness magazines. Not sure why, but it works. I secretly would love to do a bikini competition! I’m just too chicken to commit!
7. Cover models. Sure, they’re genetically freaky, and probably Photoshopped to look perfect. But for some reason, looking at how good a cover model looks helps motivate me to work harder.

8. Blogs. I enjoy reading blogs about people who are into running, or losing weight. It can show the ups and downs they go through, and you can learn from their experiences.

9. Success stories. I find the success stories of others incredibly inspirational. If a fitness website has success stories, I’ll almost always read them. I also search the beachbody facebook support groups for good transformation pictures to use as my motivation.

10. Forums. Do the monthly challenge on the beachbody facebook group with your coach, or join another forum full of like-minded or like-goaled peopled. Check in daily. It really helps. It is really important to be an active member of the forums, the more you post the more comments you will get to keep you motivated.  Message me if you want in on a new challenge, starting Oct 5th!

11. Rewards. If you exercise for a few days, give yourself a reward! A week? Another reward. Do it often in the beginning. Don’t always make it food! I bought myself a new outfit and allowed myself to purchase another exercise program!

12. Fitting into new clothes. Wanna look good in a smaller size? Work out!

13. Being attractive. That’s always a good motivator, as I’m sure we all know. I hate that I used to run into the bathroom to change because I didn’t want my husband to see me naked! Now at least I let him get a glimpse of the body that is hiding under those clothes!!
14. Adrenaline rush. I get a rush when I exercise. Ride that rush to complete the workout.
15. Stress relief. Wound up after a long day at the office? Get out and work off that stress. It makes a world of difference. I know its hard to get yourself to that point but that’s where your accountability partner comes into play. Keep each other in check even when you have a long day!

16. Time for contemplation. I love, love the quiet time of exercise for thinking about things. Most of this post was written in my head as I exercised.

17. A workout partner. Best thing I’ve done. Has totally helped me reach my goals. The Beachbody support groups have been the deal breaker.

18. An exercise class. Sign up for a class, perhaps with a friend, and you’ll be motivated to get there and work out. Coast Life Fit Club is calling your name baby!!!
19. A coach or trainer. Worth the money, just for the motivation. How about FREE, I am a beachbody coach and I help motivate people to reach their health and fitness goals. I can also help you with meal planning and staying accountable to your workout plan.

20. An exercise log/graph. For some reason, writing it down is extremely important. Really. Do it for a week and you’ll see what I mean.

21. Your before picture. You often don’t realize how far you’ve come. Take pictures. I have taken pictures and I hide them on my computer so no one can find them. I always take pictures in a sports bra and shorts and then some with form fitting clothes on. That way you can eventually share some pictures!
22. A 5K race or triathlon. Just sign up for one, and you’ll be motivated to train. I’m still working on this one!
23. The dread of feeling “yuck” from not exercising. I hate how I feel after not exercising. So I remind myself of that when I feel tired.
24. Living long enough to see your grandkids … and play with them.
25. The scale. It’s not motivating to weigh yourself every day, as your weight fluctuates. But if you weigh yourself once a week, you’ll be motivated to have it keep going down, instead of up. Combine the scale with the measuring tape, and measure your waist. I haven’t weighed myself in a week and today I got on the scale and it was down 2 lbs!
26. Reaching a goal. Set a goal for weight, or your waist measurement, or a number of days to work out, or a number of miles to run this week. Setting and tracking a goal helps motivate you to complete that goal. Make it easily achievable.
27. Posting it on your blog. Tell people you’re going to lose weight or exercise daily, and report to them. You’ll make it happen.

28. Motivational quotes. I like to print them out or put them on my computer desktop. You can always take what I’ve posted, print it out or re-post it!

29. Books. I just bought a strength-training book as a reward. It makes me want to hit the weights! I love love love Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean books. I am also reading the Abs Diet now!

30. Others commenting on how good you look. When someone notices the changes in your body, it feels good. And it makes you want to work out more.

31. An upcoming day at the beach, or a reunion. Nuff said.

Design Your Blueprint

What will you do with the next 2 years of your life?

Will you spend it going through the motions of ‘everyday life?’
Or do you have some drive and ambition to learn something new, do more, be different?

Are you truly passionate with your life? Like feel like you live each day positively? With purpose? Intention? And put forth your best self?

Are you EXCITED to get up and go to work tomorrow?! Like jumping for joy right now?
Whether you answered yes or no- think of this…

What if:
You could just start a gradual change for YOU.
1-2 hours a day. Learning something new. Making you better for yourself, your family, a future spouse, family, etc.
What if- you could write down some big dreams and goals and be taught how to work towards achieving them?

What if… Life depended solely on YOUR decisions. You call the shots. You live how YOU want?

That is my reality and it for sure can be yours too.

Join me this week in a closed online group. {{Nope. you do not have to be local! Just living in the US or Canada.}}
No strings attached.
Read a daily post. Watch a short video. LEARN what it is that I have created in 2 years that has changed my family’s blueprint.

We went from:

*Miserable, broke and arguing with my husband daily to happy, fulfilled and more in love than ever with my husband.
*Nearly bankrupt to earning 6 figures working from home in 2 years.
*Telling our kids “no, we can’t afford piano lessons, soccer, cheer, dance, etc” to now allowing them to try anything to see where they excel and where there heart and passion is.
*Being restricted to like NO vacations to now traveling at least every other month– and most trips are paid for by beachbody.
*I became the #1 coach in the state of MS bc I LEARNED how to live again and shared ME in hopes to help thousands of people change their lives too.
*Living paycheck to paycheck to now being SO CLOSE to financial freedom.
*The list goes on.

AND I’ve done all of this by treating this business as a business- working 1-2 hours a day for the first 6-9 months and now I work 20-30 hours a week of my OWN TIME. That means- before my kids wake up and after they go to bed. I did it during nap times and NEVER sacrificed my time with them. And I will never have to either!!

In 2 years I’ve seen DRASTIC changes and made BEST FRIENDS. Watching a woman lose 120 pounds– THAT makes my heart SWELL. Seeing my coaches pay off debt, purchase new cars they never EVER thought they would be able to do, see some SO CLOSE to their six figure earning marks, some QUIT THEIR FULL TIME JOBS to work beachbody full time, some working moms become stay at home moms, and some {LIKE HOW I STARTED}- earning enough to buy groceries and put food on the table. THAT is a BLESSING.

I want to help YOU create YOUR success story!

On Monday, I’ll be offering up a 5 day group, no obligation, Backstage Pass into what I do as a coach.

Answering all the fun questions like: How do you earn? Is this right for me? Is this a pyramid scheme? Is this legit? What do you do exactly? And so much more.

What do you have to lose? Or should I say- Think of ALL you have to GAIN!

Fill out the application if you would like to be added to this free informational group!

From A Stay At Home Mom To A Leader And Mentor

Happy Tuesday!!  The kids are still in bed and I just finished my 21 Day Fix workout.  I’m sitting here checking in with my groups and responding to my emails.  I came across a few emails this week that have totally changed my perspective of what I do.

I was thinking about the past 2 years and what they have looked like.  I mean have you ever really just sat and reflected on how your life has changed?  So I started out as a woman who had 2 kids and felt disgusting in her skin.  I was not ‘big’ in the eyes of most. I was in the process of losing about 10 pounds to feel comfortable with my ‘weight’ but I was also depressed, miserable and just unhappy with my life as a whole. But WHY?! My husband is great, I was blessed with two beautiful babies, I was a stay at home mom and I should have been counting my blessings… but I wasn’t. Stress and overwhelm were all that I could think about.
I mean seriously how many of you can relate to that?!?!  I had always been active. I always worked out, but my CONSISTENCY had been seriously lacking….NORMAL AGAIN right?!?!
But this time- I decided to go all in- choose a program, not skip a day, pair it with Shakeology and eating better and BAM…. my life started to change. Little by little.
The majority of people who start a fitness program do not finish it!  So what was different?!  It was the SUPPORT of the new friends I was making with challenge groups, it was my DECISION to change more than I wanted to stay the same- it was my MINDSET because I was surrounding myself with like minded people!  It was like a lightbulb moment for me.  Seriously how could I not shout this from the roof tops at how down right amazing this program was!
Well, there is a way to do that.  It’s called becoming a Beachbody Coach.  I will not lie, I remember sitting on the couch watching the “What is a Beachbody Coach” thinking that this is to good to be true.  This is just one of those ‘scams’ that we hear about- right? No way could people really build a business- from home- with their kids (if they have any)- with or without a college degree- with or without any background in health and fitness… and the list goes on. It took me almost 5 weeks to DIVE IN. I kept saying ‘yeah… I will do it” But then- I was just on the fence and honestly- too lazy to get up to get my purse to grab my credit card out! BUT– guess what? In reality, it is true and it is totally good! I am PROOF.
I brainstormed all the ways that I could help other people get the same results that I had.  I was beyond excited to get started with helping others.  I KNEW that if I was a product of the product. If I was the EXAMPLE for others, then I could FOR SURE HELP others do the same thing.
The one thing I will note is that when I started coaching I was not at my goal weight, I had no idea what social media was or even where the heck to find a facebook group.  But I jumped feet first and decided that I would take it one day at a time and I would  make my focus on helping other people.  I will also add this- I was in it because I knew that I had to help change my family. My husband and I had debt stacked against us and we had creditors calling us because we weren’t paying our bills on time. We don’t even know how it happened- but we were drowning and we had to do something. I saw this as an OPPORTUNITY to do something that I was passionate about and earn an income. I remember thinking “WHY NOT ME?”
So this brings me to the point of this blog post.  Two years later after pretty much dedicating myself to helping other people get results I have achieved some pretty significant milestones in the Team Beachbody business.  I earned the Success Club Trip for my husband and I to Cancun, Mexico this past April,  I have attended one coach summit and I will be attending my second on next month, I have attended an all expense paid Leadership Retreat in Scottsdale, AZ, I spoke to over 300 coaches at a leadership training in Pittsburgh, PA this past January, I have helped launch several Elite Training systems with the #1 coach in the network and I have been a guest speaker on several Elite Training Webinars for our company. I am an Elite Coach, I am currently ranked the  #1 COACH in the state of Mississippi, I am ranked the #79 coach out of 270,000 + coaches and I am a 7 star diamond coach.  I am a wife, mom, daughter, friend and a typical house wife who had a dream of doing something extraordinary.  I have the same 24 hours in my day that you have, I just have mastered the art of multitasking, prioritizing (although not always good) and staying focused on my goals.
So this week.. my next big NEWS is that when I was asked to speak at our COACH SUMMIT IN NASHVILLE next month I was pumped! I will be standing on a stage in front of over 1,000 people teaching, talking and hopefully INSPIRING others with my STORY. I used to say ‘I’m just a mom’ but I changed that mindset once and for all. WE ALL HAVE A STORY. WE ALL HAVE A PURPOSE. WE ALL CAN ACHIEVE GREATNESS!!!  I have gone from a 2 star diamond to 7 star diamond in the past year!  Pretty exciting stuff!!!  Words cannot describe how PROUD I am of my Legacy United coaches and all of their success as well!  I feel that creating a systematic approach to growing your business is a key to success.
So I’m here today to share with you my top tips.
Below is my presentation for you to listen to and share!!!
  1. Start Now vs. Someday- Every single thing I have done as a coach I was not ready to do.  I started my first group before I had my posts ready, I advertised before I had my first customers. I ran my own challenge group before I was at my personal weight loss goal.  I had no idea where I was going but I just went for it and figured it out along the way.  You don’t have to have a perfect blog, like page or body before you become a coach.  Part of the excitement is sharing your story as you go!  You don’t have to see the whole staircase you just have to see the first step! That is it!!!  If you have a great idea, just do it!!!
  2. Research and take initiative- As a new coach I didn’t have all the answers.  I didn’t know anything about social media, facebook, blogging, tweeting, Instagram or hashtags.  Heck I didn’t even know what a facebook group was.  But instead of sitting here using my lack of knowledge in social media as a reason not to be successful I took initiative to find out more.  The most successful coaches don’t wait for someone to tell them what to do, they just do it!  The speed of the leader is the speed of the pack!  If you want your own future team to grow and blossom then you be that example.
  3. Always self evaluate yourself.  Do people know the real you, the struggles, triumphs, what I do to maintain my fitness and nutrition?  If something isn’t working, re-evaluate and try again.  Always share your healthy lifestyle vs selling it!  Always ask yourself if you are living the life you want others to live as well.
  4. Leadership is not a sprint it’s a marathon- Being a leader does not happen over night.  Being a leader is sometimes painful, scary and hard.  Being a leader takes time, energy and perseverance   Being a leader means that you lead with excitement and passion even on days when you do not feel like it.  Being a good leader is always improving yourself.  The one thing that I live by is this, “Never build a business so that you can be better than someone else, build a business and create a huge life so that you can help others more!!!
So be fearless, follow your heart, lead with passion.  If you do those things others will follow you and you will naturally rise to the top!!!
Have you ever considered becoming a Beachbody Coach Yourself?
Then complete this application to be considered for the Legacy United Coach Internship Program.
This is my system for training new coaches and helping them to achieve success as quickly as possible. My goal is to teach you everything that I know and provide you with the tools so that you do not have to re-invent the wheel.  My goal is cut down on your learning curve to increase your success.
