Insanity Max 30 is ALMOST HERE!!

Insanity Max 30 is ALMOST HERE!!!! It’s almost time for you to be able to score a copy for yourself too! HOLDALL !!!! I’m so stoked! Shaun T is the creator of Hip Hop Abs, Rockin Body, Insanity, Insanity the Asylum, T25 and now Insanity Max30.  He has been creating amazing fitness programs that truly work and get you the results you are looking for!  I have done ALL of Shaun T’s workouts. He and I have a love/hate relationship for sure! 
Insanity Max 30 is full of 150 new moves to help you dig a little deeper and get your body in the very best shape of your life.  This workout combines cardio and strength moves without using any equipment at all. Your body is your equipment for this workout!  Trust me that is all you need!  The program is 60 days long and is broken down into month 1 and month 2.  The workouts are all 30 minutes each with a 10 minute ab workout.  The idea of this program is not to make it through the entire 30 minutes, but to “MAX OUT” and go as hard as you can until you have to take a break!  You want to max out, it’s not a bad thing.  You actually track your daily progress by your Max Out times and aim to increase that time with each workout.

Who is Insanity Max30 for?  It is for anyone that is a fitness beginner who wants to jump start their journey with an insane workout (it does have a modifier) a T25 graduate ready for a harder challenge, or an Insanity grad looking to take it to the next level!  
It’s not about your physical fitness.  It’s about your mental game!  Anyone can do insanity max 30, you just have to want to to do it!  You have to have that internal motivation and drive to every single day show up no matter how pretty it is. Trust me, it’s not pretty but its worth it and the results are mind blowing!  Being in this test group for 3 weeks I am seeing amazing results personally but also the other coaches are really rocking it too!
So you can the person wanting to lose 5lbs, 10lbs, 50 or 100 lbs.  This workout is for you if you are mentally strong and ready to rock it.

What are the workouts like:
The workouts in month 1 are a combination of cardio and tabata style strength workouts!  You no longer have a fit test like Insanity but every single workout is your fit test because your goal  is to beat your time from the day before!  
What is a tabata workout?  
It is 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off with the workout structure.
Month 2 is all about taking it to the max and challenging yourself to the max! The intervals are longer and the rest time stays the same so it’s challenging your endurance and strength.
For month 2 the intervals are 45 seconds on and 15 seconds off.
What about reaching a plateau?  
If you reach a plateau it’s not a bad thing.  It’s actually something to celebrate because it means that you worked hard to get to that plateau and now its time to work harder, go further, use my core, eat better so that I can break the plateau and get to the next one! Insanity Max30 is going to be your plateau breaker!!!!  TOTALLY!
Whats different about this program?
You might feel like you are maxing out in one move but then you switch and it gives you a little break so you can max out in another way!  The intervals are also a little different, 3 moves, 30 seconds each 3 rounds.  you do a little more a little longer and a little harder.
The focus is really on that recovery time.  Your recovery time is to enhance other parts of the workout.  Your focus is to really be self motivated beyond this 60 days!  I really feel like this workout is really a mindset.  It’s truly about being able to mentally tell yourself that you can do that.  You can push your body way further if your mind is in the game!  I’ve totally learned that thru the first 3 weeks.  It’s challenged my inner strength to dig deeper and crush it.
Is there a modifier?
Yes- there is a modifier track option so that you can see the modifier all the time during the workout which makes it easier to follow.

What is Maxing out?  To Max Out means to stop or fail for the first time in the workout.  It’s really truly not about getting through all 30 minutes.  It’s about going as hard as you can for as long as you can, until you MAX OUT.  Write down the time take a break, and then you want to jump back into the workout.  If you stay committed and push to your max you will add more time each week with the workouts!

Month 1:  
Cardio Challenge:  1st workout and you use it as your guide and your first fit test per se.  It’s all cardio, its 4 1/2 minute interval 30 second rest.
Sweat Intervals:  Cardio type intervals that you ridiculously sweat with the same interval training.
Tabata Power:  Plyometrics, and comes down to where you are not jumping and is meant to generate power in your core. Great ab block in there!  
Friday Fight:  Killer!
5 day a week program!  
There is a Pulse workout for Saturday and it’s optional. It’s more of a pulse, balance, modifier type workout.  Focus on core, balance and form.

MOSAIC FIT CLUB

Are you on of the MANY people who have made the New Year’s Resolution to get fit and healthy this year? The first step is deciding to take action, but the hard part is doing it and following through. Life starts to get in the way, excuses creep in and before you know it, those 3 pounds that you lost in the first week start to come back on and you get overwhelmed and QUIT. Well, not this time. NOT YOU. It is time to commit. It is time to get a system. It is TIME for accountability and support. 
You see, I have literally heard every excuse in the books. I dare someone to throw something at me that I haven’t heard before. But, what it boils down to is the fact that YOU are afraid. Afraid of what MIGHT happen, afraid of what could be and afraid of the dreams and goals that you have set for yourself. It’s common and it is NORMAL! We have all been there at some point or another. Whether it is health and fitness, a career choice, family, etc.. we all have fears because we are human. I want an opportunity to change your way of thinking. I want an opportunity to help you face those fears and take action. You are worth it. You are worth changing. You are worth being fit and healthy. YOU ARE WORTH IT! I want to help you change the negatives into positives. I want to help you focus on the baby steps that will get you to the BIG PICTURE. I want you to know that there is not going to be an option to give up. NEVER. GIVE. UP!! You are unique. You are amazing. and YOU are YOU! Don’t you want to be the best version of you there can be?! WHAT IS A FIT CLUB?
My fit club is a place where anyone and everyone can come for a fun, FREE workout. We meet once (sometimes twice) a week at my home church and we get our sweat on together! Each week we do something different. Sometimes it is a T25 workout, other times a P90X3 workout, TurboFire, Brazilian Butt Lift and so many others. We also go over meal planning and recipes as well! This is a group of people who commit to each other each week. We commit to showing up, giving it our all and we talk through our week! We talk about the workouts that we have done on our own that week and we keep each other accountable and motivated. We LOVE to help each other strive to be better. It’s about personal growth, personal strength and doing it together. Let’s do life TOGETHER. It’s never too late to start. 
How long does it last?

Our workouts are anywhere from 25-45 minutes. Usually most people get there a little early to find a spot in class, mingle, talk to new friends and just hang out! After the workout is over we ALWAYS high five and congratulate each other for a JOB WELL DONE!!! Then, we shake up some SHAKEOLOGY! We spend some time hanging out afterwards talking about different things beachbody has to offer, different workouts people want to try and some even decide right then and there that Beachbody is FOR THEM and we sign them up with a free account or their own fitness challenge packs!! It’s just so awesome to be surrounded by so many like minded people!

I don’t workout. I am older. Will this be too hard for me?


We always do a program that has a modifier!! So, I tell EVERYONE at EVERY fitness level that this is FOR YOU. There may be some moves that you will not be able to do AT FIRST, but that’s okay. Modify and just keep moving. As long as you are doing SOMETHING, you are burning calories and bettering yourself! What do you have to lose? Just come and bring friends with you! See what all the hype is about!

Do I need to bring anything?


I ask everyone to bring a yoga mat or a towel because sometimes we are on our hands and knees and the floor is hard to get a grip on! Wear workout clothes and bring a bottle of water! That’s it! 

What is Shakeology?

Shakeology is literally the healthiest meal of the day and in my opinion it’s the tastiest!! Each week we try a new Shakeology recipe after class!! Sometimes it is the amazing vanilla Shakeology that I really like to turn into a Snickerdoodle or the chocolate Shakeology that we recently turned into chocolate covered cherries and OH MY GOSH… HEAVEN in our mouths!!  I always ask for people’s preference, so we switch it up!  The sky is the limit on the ways to make our Shakeology! Why do you have Fit Club? Since it is free, you probably don’t make any money?


Hosting a fit club for me is not about money at all!!! I literally want to touch as many people’s lives as I can to get them fit and healthy!! I want to inspire people to do more. I literally have a HUGE GOAL to reach as many people on the Gulf Coast to get healthy. It is never about someone’s size, shape or whatever. It is about changing the mindset to WANT a change. It is about making a commitment and sticking with it. This is the goal that I have for so many, but it isn’t about ME making the goal.. It is about YOU making the goal and following through with it. Fit clubs are a GREAT way for people to realize that working out IS FUN. And if you aren’t having fun, then you won’t stick with it. Period. Let’s have fun together! Bring friends, encourage others, set realistic goals and strive to reach them. This is YOUR YEAR!

Week 1: Body Beast/ T25 Hybrid

Week 1: Body Beast/T25 Hybrid
I am so excited to be changing up the routine this week! I was planning to start Body Beast last Monday, but I hurt my back on Sunday morning, so that idea flew out the window! So, I have mended myself back to normal and I am so excited to get started!  So, I was going to just do Body Beast, but I decided that since we are going into the peak of the holiday season, I will do a hybrid so I can really focus on getting my lifting in and on those few days a week when time is of the essence, I will do a T25 workout! WIN WIN! I have never done Body Beast, so this is really exciting for me! I have a few friends who are in the second phase and they LOVE IT and are getting INSANE results! I can’t wait to really pump my muscles. 
This week I am going to be focusing solely on perfect form and also staying spot on with my meal plan. It is the start of the holiday season and I refuse to put on any extra holiday fluff! That is not going to happen to this girl and I don’t want it to happen to you either! This is a joyous time to spend with friends and family! To be thankful for everything and to know that we are all so blessed! With that being said, let’s not allow this season to get the bets of us! Don’t allow your season to revolve around FOOD! Food is not that special! I know, I know.. we all get excited about Grandma’s special pumpkin pie and Aunt Sally’s famous sugar cookies! That is perfectly okay!! BUT, what we don’t want to do is focus so much on them that we end up eating the whole tray of cookies ourselves!


 I want to give you a suggestion. Set a number of cookies that you are going to allow yourself to have this holiday season. From now until January 1st, what is an acceptable number of treats you can give yourself that will make you feel satisfied, but not stuffed? Is that number 12? 15? 20? Choose your number and write it down! PUT IT IN YOUR PHONE!!! And after each sweet treat you eat, cross of a 1,2,3… etc! That will really make you be aware of what is going into your mouth!! AND I bet that you will find yourself being more mindful of which treat goes to your lips. Is it worth eating that walmart cooking when you know next weekend Grannie will have her homemade goodies?? NO! It’s all about eating what you want in moderation and also paying attention to what you are eating 🙂 Hope that little tip helps!

Back to the meal planning. It is really important to me to make sure that I am fueling my body properly. I like how I feel when I am getting in all of my veggies and fruits, when I am drinking my Shakeology everyday and when I am exercising! My body thanks me! Shoot, I have abs I didn’t know existed! I EAT and I DON’T FEEL DEPRIVED!! EVER!! I plan my cheat meals each week and I enjoy my life! 
I do want you guys to focus on eating at least every 3 hours! It is so important to your body that you are eating because that is what gets your metabolism up and up!! Are you someone who says “I’m never hungry?” Well, that is probably because you are eating too many calories at one sitting and also your metabolism is not as fast as it could or possibly should be! So, I will be checking in with you all on my progress this week! I can’t wait to start getting my muscles really pumping and see what a difference I can make in my body! I like change and I can’t wait to share this with you! Stay tuned!!  And I have made a lot of progress so far!! I can’t wait to go further!! 🙂

Tidbits for Fall

Fall is HERE!! And although I live in the super hot south and temps are still in the 90’s, I am holding out for one day when I can wear sweaters, skinny jeans and cute boots! One day soon, I HOPE! Along with cute outfits fall can also mean goodies galore with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly approaching! What are you going to do to keep up your workout routine? I know that we all hear that it’s okay to hide the ‘fluff’ behind the sweaters, but in all reality.. do you really want to do that? I didn’t think so. Don’t sabotage all of the hard work and dedication that you’ve put in over the summer to allow yourself to let it all go!
Here are a few tips to keep yourself moving during the cold months and all through the holiday season!

1. Keep up your workout routine! Is it cold when your alarm goes off? YES! Is it dark when your alarm goes off? Yep! Does that mean you should hit snooze 5 times before you HAVE to get up? NO WAY! It means that you suck it up, roll over, put your feet on the floor and get UP!
A TIP: Lay all of your clothes out the night before so you literally won’t even have time to think about your workout. You can get up, get dressed, put your shoes on and head out to your living room, garage, basement or wherever you do your workouts! You can also already have your workout area prepped and ready to go! If you do a DVD, have the disc in the DVD player or computer the night before too so all that you have to do is literally turn it on and PUSH PLAY!

My go to workout is TurboFire! I love any Beachbody workout and I do switch it up often, but the one that I do the most is definitely TurboFire! I just love it!

2. MEAL PLAN, MEAL PLAN, MEAL PLAN! It is the KEY to success! When you already know what you are going to eat for the day then it takes most of the guess work out of it! Prepare everything on Sunday nights (or whatever day of the week works best for you) and hang that weekly meal plan on your fridge, in your car, in the pantry.. anywhere that you need to see it if you are tempted to cheat or get off track! Plan your one cheat meal a week and go all out for that, but in between… stick with it! You don’t want to start getting layers of ‘fluff’ over that six pack you created, right? And you will feel so icky and it is much harder to get re-motivated after you’ve gained weight than it is to stay motivated while you are working hard!

3. Put the candy in the freezer and leave it alone! The Halloween candy will be bombarding our house in a month. Let’s not allow it to win! And we are all human, I know that… so choose a number of pieces of candy that you will allow yourself to eat without guilt. So, what is your number? 2? 3? 4?  Pick your number and then once you eat that many pieces of candy. YOU’RE DONE! Freeze the rest or give it away. Don’t allow it to haunt you. Remember, food doesn’t have control over you! Let it go!

4. How many cookies are you going to eat at Christmas time? Use the same strategy as in number 3.  Choose a number. Say 12? 15? Cookies over the holiday season. Write it down and cross off each number as you eat a cookie! This way you will have to think about what you are eating! Do you love your mom’s sugar cookies? Well, make sure that you save a few of those cookies for hers! Don’t waste them on a store bought cookie that isn’t really even that good! This will just make you more accountable for your actions!

5. Flavored coffee! It is a staple around my house. When I am craving something sweet, I choose some yummy coffee and brew it! It is so yummy and especially on those cool fall nights it hits the spot! I am obsessed with Dunkin’ Donuts flavored coffee. It’s super yummy and hits the spot every time!

6. Here is a recipe just because it’s fall and butternut squash is in season!
Butternut Squash Soup 

Total Time: 1 hr.
Prep Time: 15 min.
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. olive oil
3 medium onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 medium butternut squash, peeled, seeded, cut into 1-inch pieces
5½ cups low-sodium, organic vegetable broth
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
3 fresh thyme sprigs, leaves removed and chopped, stem discarded, divided use
Sea salt and ground black pepper (to taste; optional)
6 tsp. nonfat plain yogurt

Preparation:
1. Heat oil in large sauce pan over medium-high heat. Add onions; cook, stirring frequently, for 8 to 10 minutes, or until translucent.
2. Add garlic; cook for 1 minute, or until tender.
3. Add squash, broth, and red pepper. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; gently boil, covered, for 25 to 30 minutes, or until squash is soft. Remove from heat. 4. Place soup in a blender or food processor, in 4 or more batches, if necessary; cover with lid and kitchen towel. Blend until smooth.

5. Return soup to sauce pan over medium heat. Add 1 tsp. thyme; cook, stirring constantly, until soup is hot.
6. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
7. Ladle soup into 6 serving bowls. Garnish each with 1 tsp. yogurt, and sprinkle all with remaining 2 tsp. thyme

7. Fall is all about fun fashion too! Like I mentioned before, I’m obsessed with cute boots and sweaters! Here is a pic of the next outfit I’m buying! Thought I would share! You will all want to be in shape to look adorbs in your awesome outfits!! Stay on track and love yourself!
